It is only 8 am and I am exhausted. I feel as though I ran a marathon and I haven’t even put on my running shoes. This morning was not unlike most mornings, but still I am beat.
5:00 am: alarm goes off, I am way too tired, hit the snooze button.
5:45 am: after a couple of rounds of snoozes, I pull myself out of bed and into the warm dripping water of the shower hoping for a miracle wake up rinse.
6:00 am: kids are up and I am not ready for them. Hold on guys…Mommy will be there in a minute.
6:15 am: miraculously I manage to dress, brush my teeth, apply my anti-wrinkle cream and dab on a bit of make-up. Time to wake up the kiddos for the morning hustle.
6:25 am: Voila, breakfast is served. Thank goodness for cereal.
6:30 am: While they are busy eating, I squeeze in a last minute load of laundry, empty the dishwasher, make a quick sack lunch, feed the dogs, take out the trash, check for anything outstanding paperwork, and collect my stuff.
6:45 am: The “get ready to leave” march begins or shall we say “struggle.” The whining amplifies “do I have to go to school today?” “Where are my favorite shorts”, “Did you sign my field trip permission slip?”
6:55 am: Quick sweep through the house. Do I have everything? Backpacks with all required items for each child…..blanket, extra clothes, book…check, children’s backpacks, jacket, permission slip, lunch, check. Lights off, dog crated, electronics turned off, coffee for mom, Mom’s purse and briefcase…check.
7:05 am: Things are looking good; we made it out of the house on time… I hope! We pull out of the drive way.
Wait…my phone is ringing me…who is calling?
I look down at the phone – it is my LassoTag reminder. Yep, it looks like my son’s backpack is still inside the house with his math assignment. Oh, thank you LassoTag. Had I not had that alert, I would have driven all the way to his school only to find that I had to drive back home, grab the bag, and drive it back to school, making me late for work!
If you are a mom, I am sure you relate on more than one level. How often does this happen to you? You are so busy just trying to get out of the house in the morning that it is nearly impossible to keep track of your bags let alone the backpacks and required content for each of your children, on top of the coffee or breakfast you need to grab for yourself.
When I first heard about this product concept, I was immediately onboard. I could foresee multiple applications that the LassoTag app and hitch could solve in my personal life. LassoTag is an iPhone app (Android in production) that pairs with a Bluetooth 4.0 device, called the LassoTag hitch. When ever the item you want to track with this hitch gets outside of a 50 foot radius of you and your phone, you will receive a call to your phone letting you know that the item was left behind.
